Stronghold is probably the best classical RTS about the medieval period.
It is an extremely addictive and challenging game, able to immerse the player in the historical atmosphere. Once you have entered the dynamics of the game you can choose what kind of ruler to be, if cruel or magnanimous, if loved or hated and you will have to choose the troops to bring into battle.
